Structural theorems for quasiasymptotics of distributions at the origin

An open question concerning the quasiasymptotic behavior of distributions at the origin is solved. The question is the following: Suppose that a tempered distribution has quasiasymptotic at the origin in S ′(?), then the tempered distribution has quasiasymptotic in D ′(?), does the converse implication hold? The second purpose of this article is to give complete structural theorems for quasiasymptotics at the origin. For this purpose, asymptotically homogeneous functions with respect to slowly varying functions are introduced and analyzed (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)     

Exponential dichotomy of linear systems with almost periodic matrices

Using the Lyapunov direct method, we establish a condition of exponential dichotomy for the class of dynamical systems under weaker assumptions as compared to the case of an arbitrary continuous matrix on the derivative of the Lyapunov function along the trajectories. By way of application, we obtain a sufficient condition for the dichotomy of a second order almost periodic vector equation in terms of coefficients.     

Existence of weighted pseudo almost periodic solutions to some classes of hyperbolic evolution equations

This paper is concerned with the study of weighted pseudo almost periodic solutions to some classes of hyperbolic differential equations. Upon making some suitable assumptions, the existence and uniqueness of a weighted pseudo almost periodic solution is obtained. To illustrate our main result, we study the existence of a weighted pseudo almost periodic solution to a system of partial differential equations arising in control systems described by abstract retarded functional-differential equations with feedback control.     

Exponential stability for stochastic neutral partial functional differential equations

In this paper, we consider a class of stochastic neutral partial functional differential equations in a real separable Hilbert space. Some conditions on the existence and uniqueness of a mild solution of this class of equations and also the exponential stability of the moments of a mild solution as well as its sample paths are obtained. The known results in Govindan [T.E. Govindan, Almost sure exponential stability for stochastic neutral partial functional differential equations, Stochastics 77 (2005) 139-154], Liu and Truman [K. Liu, A. Truman, A note on almost sure exponential stability for stochastic partial functional differential equations, Statist. Probab. Lett. 50 (2000) 273-278] and Taniguchi [T. Taniguchi, Almost sure exponential stability for stochastic partial functional differential equations, Stoch. Anal. Appl. 16 (1998) 965-975; T. Taniguchi, Asymptotic stability theorems of semilinear stochastic evolution equations in Hilbert spaces, Stochastics 53 (1995) 41-52] are generalized and improved.

Summary This article provides a glimpse of some of the highlights of the joint work of Endre Csáki and Pál Révész since 1979. The topics of this short exploration of the rich stochastic milieu of this inspiring collaboration revolve around Brownian motion, random walks and their long excursions, local times and additive functionals, iterated processes, almost sure local and global central limit theorems, integral functionals of geometric stochastic processes, favourite sites--favourite values and jump sizes for random walk and Brownian motion, random walking in a random scenery, and large void zones and occupation times for coalescing random walks.     

Convergence in almost periodic cooperative systems with a first integral

This paper is to investigate the asymptotic dynamics in almost periodic cooperative systems with a first integral. By appealing to the theory of skew-product semiflows we establish the asymptotic almost periodicity of bounded solutions to such systems, which extends the existing convergence results for time independent and periodic cooperative systems with a first integral and proves a conjecture of B. Tang, Y. Kuang and H. Smith in SIAM J. Math. Anal., 24 (1993), 1331-1339.
